Novation has released Audiohub 2×4 – a combined 96 kHz, 24-bit audio interface and 2.0 USB hub. It is designed for electronic music producers who want pristine audio quality and needs to connect and power multiple USB devices with zero latency.
Audiohub 2×4 is a partnership with Focusrite, so you can expect a great sounding interface.
The product is a compact and solid unit. At the top, there are independent volume knobs to adjust the gain from outputs 1-2 and 3-4, as well as Phones volume. There are also LEDs to indicate input level clip, USB ports 1/2/3, Hub and Audio activity.
The front panel has the three USB 2.0 ports for connection of external USB equipment. There are two RCA phono inputs, with RCA connectors, which signal will be routed to the user’s preferred DAW. There’s also a gain low/high switch that will increase the gain by 10dB. The Phones input has a 1-2/3-4 switch that selects the pair of outputs will be routed to the headphone socket.
The rear panel has two P10 balanced outputs and four RCA outputs (1-2 will have the same signal from balanced 1-2). There’s also a USB 2.0 port to connect the unit to a computer or iOS device and a power input (AC adaptor included). To connect the interface to an iPad, an Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit (not included) is required.
