Mackie has released the ProDX Series of wireless digital mixers. Ideal for solo performers, singers, small bands, rehearsals, venues and much more, ProDX Series offers high-quality sound in a compact, rugged and affordable box.
There are two models available: ProDX4 and ProDX8. Both are equal in quality and resources; the only difference is the number of available analog inputs. The product also comes with MixerConnect app, where it’s possible to stream music or backing tracks via Bluetooth, control levels, EQ and effects and save mix presets
All basic features are set through the front panel. The user can select the desired parameter by clicking on the correspondent button, and then make adjustments through the main volume knob.
The Mix button gives access to Main, Aux or FX settings. The FX button controls the FX section – the user can choose two reverb and two delay presets. for each channel or main volume. The phones button will access the headphones volume. The numbered buttons (1, 2, 3/4 on ProDX4 and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7/8 on ProDX8) will select the correspondent input and then the user can make adjustments to volume and effects.
With the MixerConnect app installed on an iOS or Android device, it is possible to remotely control the unit, and also access additional features, via Bluetooth. For example, there is a 7-band EQ available for Aux1, Aux2 and the Main channels:
For the individual inputs, there’s a 5-band EQ, with High, Mid, Mid Freq, Low and Low Cut parameters, as well as volume sliders for Compressor and Delay.
