Epic is a virtual instrument created by Funk/Soul Productions and distributed by Big Fish Audio, for use with Kontakt. It has a huge sample library of sample drums and drum loops. It’s an excellent tool for composers and sound designers, and its library is perfect for films, movie, games, TV, etc.
The interface is quite straightforward. You load a patch, which comes with a set of one-shots and loops. Then several parameters are available to customize the sound.
At the left, you can see controls to adjust Pitch and the Reverb level. The instrument comes with 15 reverb types, such as Cinematic, Plate, and Chamber. There are two knobs called Bass and Bright that can adjust EQ.
Epic has ADSR controls as well. So, it’s possible to shape the drum samples and create new amazing sounds.
Epic requires Native Instruments Kontakt 5 Player.
– Over 10 GB (uncompressed) library;
– 24 Performance Kits;
– 58 multi-sampled drum and percussion instruments;
– 388 cinematic sound effects;
– Kontakt Player 5 included.
