iMPC is an app which emulates the iconic Akai MPC drum machine. It comes with more than 1,200 samples, 80 sequences and 50 programs. And naturally, you can create your own sequences and programs as well.
The app has a great sampling feature. You can edit the native samples, load any other WAV sound as a sample and you can record new samples to later assign them to one of the 16 existing pads.
There are 3 types of effects in the app: delay, bit crusher and compressor/limiter.
At the top, the screen displays buttons for accessing the mixer, built-in effects, the sample library, and the sequence sharing options.
By the way, when you finish your sequence, you can share it on Soundcloud, Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr, as well as also save it to your computer.
At the left, there are dedicated buttons for note repeat, time correct (quantization) and the 16 levels button – presets for attack, velocity, length and tone. There is a variation slider for real time attack, velocity, length and tuning adjusts.
iMPC can be connected to MPC Elements and Fly hardware controllers.
You can record in real time the performance from playing the pads and use the overdub button to record additional sounds.
